Ringing church bells is an ancient and musical art that is a fascinating blend of mental concentration and physical skill. St Alphege Bell Ringers are a friendly and dedicated band of all ages. Our primary function is to call people to worship for services, but we take great pleasure in ringing the bells at weddings, and also just for fun! We are a very friendly bunch of people too, enjoying social events such as a Christmas Dinner, Ten Pin Bowling, and whatever our members suggest! One of our best events is our annual Ringing Outing, when we visit and ring at other towers around Kent, in company with our friends from All Saints Church. We are affiliated to the wider Kent County Association of Change Ringers (www.kcacr.org.uk), which provides a great network of ringing friends and events across the county.

St Alphege Bell Ringers.
The only requirements, if you would like to learn to ring, are that you come to practices regularly and on reaching a good standard, you ring each Sunday morning before the 9.30am service.
Ringing is suitable for anyone in reasonable physical condition over the age of 10. We welcome new recruits from primary school children to senior citizens! If you are considering joining the band and taking up an exciting new challenge, please get in touch with John, our Ringing Master, or simply come down to practice and see what it’s all about!
